This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week, with a rotational shift pattern.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or a trainee ANP to join our established, friendly and supportive ANP team within The Medical Assessment Unit in the Royal Alexandra Hospital. As an ANP within acute medicine, you will play a vital role in the ongoing development of unscheduled care services within the RAH.
You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, including prescribing, of patients who present with a wide range of health conditions. The ANP role includes the authority to admit, refer and discharge patients. This will involve working autonomously by utilising a high level of clinical decision making and problem solving skills.
As an ANP, you will manage the complete clinical care for patients by utilising your advanced clinical knowledge and skills; ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality and effective patient care.
This is a fast-paced high acuity environment. We are seeking an individual who is flexible, forward thinking, hardworking and professional. The ability to remain calm under pressure is a priority as well as possessing excellent communication and organisational skills. You must have the ability to work as part of a wide multi-disciplinary team as well as to work independently.
It is essential that you are a Registered General Nurse on the NMC register. Applicants should have or be working towards, an appropriate Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice. The successful candidate will ideally be a suitably qualified ANP with experience in an acute setting
Consideration may be given to experienced RNs who demonstrate the ability, commitment and willingness to undertake the ANP training pathway. Applicants for an ANP training post must have substantial post registration experience at band 6 level in an acute care/ medical environment. Band 7 annexe 21 terms and conditions would apply for the duration of training.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
