Job Description
InnoTECH Staffing is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer for a client in the Seacoast, NH area.
This position offers a great opportunity for a junior-to-mid-level Electrical Engineer to work with an experienced team of engineers, CAD designers, and technicians. The company is an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company that will offer the right candidate exposure and accelerated learning across the complete project lifecycle in the natural gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industries.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop electrical equipment specifications for motor control centers (MCC’s), switchgear and other electrical equipment.
2. Prepares and/or directs CAD department to produce thorough engineering documentation to record these designs.
3. Contributes to the material procurement process by preparing specifications and reviewing vendors’ quotations for technical accuracy.
4. Use prepared engineering documents as part of complete bid package to allow contractors to bid accurately. Analyze returning bids for completeness and pricing. Select and approve contractors.
5. Review of specifications, drawings, and other vendor documentation within electrical discipline to verify compliance with project requirements.
6. Perform sizing and selection of electrical equipment.
7. Directs and participates in activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements. Attendance to FAT required. Periodic field travel to oversee electrical contractor’s progress also required.
8. Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
Specific Knowledge & Skills:
1. Experience in low and medium voltage power distribution systems which includes power system design, equipment sizing, protective device selection and power systems studies.
2. Familiarity with single line diagrams, power and control schematics, raceway and wiring design for conduits and cable trays, grounding design and details for electrical installation.
3. Understanding of electrical specifications for generators, motors, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCC’s), variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
5. Knowledge of power modeling software (ETAP) to conduct power system analyses (motor starting transient, load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination and arc flash).
6. Working knowledge of AutoCAD desirable.
7. Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety).
Qualifications / Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BSEE) from a four-year college or university.
1+ years of experience (Senior level applicants are also being considered).
Field Construction experience desirable, but not required.
