Are you an enthusiastic, hard-working and motivated Registered Nurse with good communication skills looking for your next opportunity? Are you passionate about delivering high standards of patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team? If you are able to answer yes to these two questions, then you could be the person that we are looking for!
We have an opportunity to join our Stroke Unit at Colchester Hospital as a Junior Sister / Junior Charge Nurse. The Stroke Unit is a 33 bedded unit, where we care for patients who have suffered a stroke in the acute phase and assist them with their rehabilitation, whilst working closely with the multi-disciplinary teams.
If you are a band 5 registered nurse who would like to develop in a leadership role then this would be a fantastic opportunity. Although Stroke knowledge and experience is an advantage it is not essential.
You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well-organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. You will have well-developed communication and change management skills and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve. If you think you have the passion to ensure the continued development of the Stroke services the trust provides we want to hear from you.
Main duties of the job

To work with nurses and other identified team members (MDT) on a one to one/group basis to develop and enhance clinical skills and practice.
To deputise for the department sister to ensure appropriate senior cover at all times.
