Role Description
Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer
Location: Didcot Support Service, Oxfordshire
Time Commitment: Flexible
We are looking for Befriender Volunteers to provide companionship to people we support in Didcot. The Volunteers will spend time with the people we support by visiting the home. They will carry out activities with people we support, and these could be arts, crafts, music, chatting over a cup of tea, reading books, playing board games, etc. - and anything that the volunteers and people we support might have an interest in. Skills required
1. To be kind, empathetic and friendly
2. To have a good sense of humour and love to chat
3. To be punctual and reliable
4. To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures

Upon receipt of your application, a member of our friendly Volunteering Team will contact you for an informal chat and to explain about the next steps. To ensure the safety of the people we support, we require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training which is specific to the role. About Us
