The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a full time, open-ended Student Support Administrator.
The Opportunity:
The successful post holder will provide administrative support to the School’s Student Support and Enhancement team and other key professional services and academic staff involved in student support roles. You will play a key role in helping us to provide an excellent administrative service providing support and guidance to students.
Your role will be to act as a first point of contact for initial student support enquiries, answering and escalating as circumstances require as well as assisting in supporting various key student events.
You will be active in supporting key processes related to student enrolments, student engagement monitoring, ensuring referrals to other University support services, and other queries related to student support processes.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent) plus typically some relevant work experience; or school education to Standard Grade or equivalent plus typically related relevant work experience.
Ability to plan, prioritise and organise a demanding workload as part of a collaborative team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly, helpful, approachable and confident manner towards students and staff.
Competent and proven digital and IT skills; Microsoft Office applications – Word, PowerPoint, Excel – including Office 365 and SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, email, web.
Experience of working with and advising students in a busy University or similar environment would be highly desirable.
