Our lively small animal practice based in Weston-Super-Mare is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly, professional team. You will join our existing nursing team of eight - made up of a good balance of RVNs, SVNs, and Animal Care Assistants.
When we say team - we mean it! Anyone who joins us is carefully selected to make sure we all enjoy each other’s company. Everyone applying will be an RVN, but what will set you apart is your cool head, your patient and kind demeanour, your eagerness to learn something new, and a sense of humour that ideally knows no bounds. If you’ve not already undertaken Clinical Coach training, we hope you’ll see this in your future - and of course the practice will fund and support this endeavour.
Our surgery has modern equipment including nurse-led laser clinics, sevoflurane anaesthetics, digital x-ray, capnography, and an in-house laboratory... all of which we’re happy to help you brush up on as required. We’re proud to provide our clinical team with the facilities they need to allow them to deliver veterinary care that focuses on both high clinical standards and stand-out customer service; this also includes a full support team of receptionists and a dedicated insurance administrator.
We welcome interest from candidates seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) position. There are no out-of-hours or on-call duties, but your rota hours will include one in three weekends in the surgery (Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 10:30am-4:30pm) when you will work with a second nurse as well as one vet and two dedicated receptionists. All our colleagues receive a fixed, predictable rota with the same day off each week, enabling you to enjoy some of that elusive work-life balance!
In return, we offer a really welcoming and rewarding working environment, together with opportunities and support for you to develop and expand your area(s) of interest. Out of respect for our existing nursing team, we prefer not to publish the details of our salary package but are happy to discuss openly at interview. This accompanies CPD spend and exclusive company benefits and rewards such as 20% off in Pets at Home.

If you are interested in joining our team, then I would love to hear from you before 15th April.
I understand what a small world it is, so if you’d like to approach me informally in the first instance, I assure you of the utmost confidence.
Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves, so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
