Join our dynamic team of teachers and play a vital role in shaping the future of children aged 4–16 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
Your Role
As a Teacher of SEN in Norfolk, you will:
Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and teach high-quality, tailored lessons across various subjects.
Adapt to Individual Needs: Modify the curriculum to support diverse learning styles and specific SEN/SEMH requirements.
Inspire Your Team: Lead and mentor Teaching Assistants and Higher-Level Teaching Assistants to maximise student outcomes.
Prioritise Wellbeing: Build meaningful, supportive relationships with students, focusing on academic and emotional growth.
Make an Impact: Monitor progress, implement safeguarding policies, and promote equality across the school.
What You’ll Need as a Teacher of SEN
Qualifications: QTS or QTLS (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
Experience: Proven track record working with SEN learners and EHCPs.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of SEN strategies and the national curriculum.
Skills: Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to manage and support students with anxiety or SEMH needs.
Practicality: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for rural areas within Norfolk).
Teacher of SEN -The Role
You will teach small classes of up to 10 students, supported by at least three dedicated staff members. The pupils have a variety of needs, including communication challenges, specific learning difficulties like dyslexia, autism spectrum conditions, and emotional or mental health barriers.
You’ll thrive in a supportive environment where you can deliver innovative, engaging lessons and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including an onsite clinical team and experienced senior leaders.
