Job Opportunity: Teacher for Enhanced Provision
We are seeking a qualified Primary or Secondary teacher with SEND experience to lead our new Enhanced Provision. This role involves supporting a small group of KS3 students who require adapted literacy and numeracy support. Students will be taught English, Humanities, and Maths in small groups of up to 10, gradually reintegrating into mainstream classes as attainment gaps close. We are looking for an innovative teacher passionate about achieving the best outcomes for all students, especially those with SEND.
The Enhanced Provision
Our Enhanced Provision offers tailored support for students with specific learning needs, exceeding typical mainstream support. Students benefit from a Primary School approach, such as consistent space and adult support, to ease their transition to secondary school. They will engage in both mainstream activities and the provision, working towards an 80-100% mainstream timetable.
The Role
You will work with the SENCO and curriculum leads to design and deliver a curriculum for students in the Enhanced Provision. The role also involves creating a safe space for students to regulate, receive pre-teaching, and extra support where needed. Students are identified through transition discussions with Primary Schools, the Local Authority, and specialists.
Main Responsibilities
* Plan and teach adapted lessons to KS3 students, liaising with Curriculum Leaders to differentiate schemes of work.
* Use assessment effectively to track progress.
* Provide a nurturing and structured learning environment.
* Champion the needs and strengths of students in the Enhanced Provision across the school.
* Line manage the Enhanced Provision Learning Support Assistant.
* Build strong relationships with the families of students, sharing information about their progress and wellbeing.
General Duties
You will be expected to fulfil the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document. All responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the Headteacher or other Senior Managers, ensuring a manageable workload and adequate support.
