Plant & Maintenance Technician Location Redditch Salary £27000-£35000 per annum Permanent full time Monday to Friday required weekend overtime Benefits 33 days holiday (inc statutory holidays), pension scheme, free parking, workwear and full training will be provided on all site-specific areas of the role Willing and able to work regularly at weekends, usually Saturday mornings and work overtime if required during the week out of hours if required (premium rate applies) Job description Our client a well-established company is currently seeking a Plant & Maintenance Technician / Engineer with an all-round skillset to apply themselves in a "hands-on" role and will suit those looking for a role to ultimately "own" the maintenance function on our site and feel appreciated in a team-based friendly environment, supported by the Factory Manager & Plant Director The Role Full responsibility for all the regular scheduled PPM for all the plant and equipment focussed on minimising downtime and maximising efficient operation Reacting quickly and proactively to breakdown situations including out of hours if required (premium rate then applies) Testing, cleaning and replenishing processing tanks, salt spray testing, paint thickness checks General site maintenance and upkeep of factory buildings Organising external contractor visits and supervision on site Stock-checking & ensuring re-order and sometimes collection of consumables Includes weekend working (circa 4hrs pw or bi-weekly at premium rate) The Person:- Background in a manufacturing production environment or engineering with good fault-finding skills and mechanical bias PPM & reactive experience Ideally proficient in all tasks of replacing sensors, motors, pumps & inverters, stripping pumps, gearboxes, replacing drives & bearings Experienced in basics of site maintenance i.e. simple plumbing, painting, mending and fixing Willing and able to work regularly at weekends, usually Saturday mornings (premium rate applies) and work overtime if required during the week Able to respond quickly to out of hours break-downs Car owner with full driving licence Counterbalance FLT licence desirable Please apply with your CV in the first instance.
