About Us
BlackRook Academy is a leading training provider specialising in digital and creative skills, including social media, content creation, and essential digital skills. We are passionate about empowering individuals through dynamic training that reflects real-world industry needs. Our government-funded Bootcamps and short courses bridge the gap between education and employment, supporting both learners and businesses across the West Midlands.
About the Role
As we grow, we’re looking for a proactive and confident Learner Recruitment & Partnerships Officer to take the lead on filling our Bootcamps with the right candidates. You’ll be the first point of contact for many learners, responsible for building trusted referral networks with stakeholders including the DWP, Jobcentres, and community partners.
You will be instrumental in managing the full recruitment and enrolment process—from engaging candidates and ensuring eligibility to completing onboarding paperwork and helping learners get started with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships with local partners such as Jobcentres, community organisations, charities, and colleges to identify and refer potential learners.
* Attend local events and jobs fairs, presenting the work of BlackRook Academy and generating sign-ups for upcoming Bootcamps.
* Manage the enrolment and eligibility checking process for learners across multiple sites.
* Develop and deliver engaging outreach campaigns—including social media content and printed material—to drive learner recruitment.
* Maintain accurate learner records, paperwork, and reports, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
* Coordinate learner IAGs (Information, Advice, and Guidance) appointments.
* Collaborate with our Employer Engagement team to ensure learners are prepared for employment progression routes.
* Maintain regular contact with past candidates to monitor job progression, capture success stories, and identify further support or training needs where appropriate.
* Occasionally support with employer engagement activity when needed.
* Work flexibly across our various delivery sites (e.g. Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Solihull) and attend team meetings or events as required.
* Provide excellent customer service and support to learners from a range of backgrounds, including those with additional needs or facing barriers to work.
Requirements
* Experience in learner recruitment, outreach, or stakeholder engagement (education, employability or community setting ideal).
* Comfortable presenting and speaking to groups of people in community or professional settings.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills; attention to detail is key.
* Ability to work to deadlines and meet recruitment targets.
* Knowledge of funding and eligibility processes (desirable).
* Flexible and mobile, with willingness to travel across the West Midlands. Driving licence desirable.
* A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for helping people succeed.
Why Join Us?
* Be part of a fast-growing training provider with a big heart and community impact.
* Help shape the futures of learners who are underrepresented in digital roles.
* Work in a dynamic, flexible environment where your ideas are valued and heard.
* Build strong professional relationships with stakeholders across the West Midlands.
