Humberston Academy is now recruiting for a Science Laboratory Technician Apprentice.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of a department that has performed consistently above national average in all examinations delivered. The department thrives on good humour and teamwork, delivering a knowledge rich curriculum in well-resourced classrooms with a student centred philosophy.
Therefore, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate that has a genuine interest in Science that will assist in ensuring that resources are properly managed and prepared and equipment is well maintained.

About the role
* Give indirect or direct support to teachers delivering the Science National Curriculum. The overall aim is to participate in raising and maintaining standards of education for students.
* Assisting with the preparation of materials for practical lessons within the department.
* Observe/ Assist with the preparation of chemical solutions, biological specimens etc.
* Observe the set-up, test and preparation of apparatus, equipment, machinery, chemicals and/or material following statutory health and safety requirements to support specific learning requirements within the delivery of the curriculum.
* Assist with organising the storage and use of all equipment.
* This is a fixed term contract role for 15 months, working 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
