The Role
As a Senior Façade Engineer, you will lead and manage projects with minimal supervision, ensuring high-quality design solutions are delivered on time and within budget. You’ll work closely with clients, consultants, and colleagues, maintaining strong relationships while upholding our core values of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
You will also play a key role in mentoring and supporting junior team members, contributing to their professional development and the future success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate façade engineering projects from concept to construction
Produce technical design information, including drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports
Review and approve reports, designs, and sketches to ensure compliance with quality standards
Undertake structural surveys and prepare detailed technical reports
Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring seamless delivery
Liaise with clients, local authorities, and design teams, maintaining strong professional relationships
Oversee the work of sub-contractors and external consultants
Attend and contribute to design meetings and site inspections
Support business development initiatives, including bids and proposals
Actively engage in continuous professional development (CPD)
Essential Skills & Experience
HND/HNC in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering and façade physics
Proven experience in the design of steel, stainless steel, aluminium, timber, and glass structures
Competence in computer-aided structural analysis and design
Understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes, and CDM regulations
Experience in mentoring junior engineers and briefing CAD technicians
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
