Newcastle City Council’s Licensing Authority is looking for a Licensing Assistant to join our busy team.
This role involves a wide range of licensing responsibilities, including administrative and enforcement support, review and evaluation of licensing applications for compliance and suitability, training and competency assessment and service development, supporting Newcastle’s licensed trade, new businesses, and the wider community.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we address the challenges and support the continued development of the licensed trade as part of our day and night-time economies managing applications and licensing changes to positively implement our departmental licensing policies.
Whilst this role focuses primarily on the hackney carriage and private hire fleet, licensed drivers and operators, it may also involve working across various licensing functions as part of the Licensing Authority.
We are looking for someone with:
1. A good understanding of licensing regulations, guidance, and best practices
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
3. Experience in delivering regulatory services
