About the role
The Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Higher Level Teaching Assistant role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as Challening Behaviour, ASD, ADHD and Social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be required to work within group and 1:1 setting with a range of ages and levels of learning.
Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils with this, as well as making sure they are not displaying any triggers or any signs of unease.
Our main aim is to offer the best possible support to pupils. In order to be successful for this role a nurturing, patient and empathetic attitude will be key.
About the school
This SEND school is based in South Bristol and is accessible via public transport, but access to a car would be advantageous. There is a car park on site. They support diverse group of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties and challenging behaviours. We are continually seeking quality caring staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full time or even supply support staff members.
