This is a full-time permanent position. For the preceptorship role, there will be a structured framework to acquire the knowledge, skills, and experience required to progress to Band 8aonce competencies have been met. What you'll be doing: Provide specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention for inpatients with neurological conditions (such as head injury, cerebral tumours and stroke) Develop, implement and monitor the effectiveness of rehabilitation and condition management programmes for patients with neuropsychological disorders Undertake assessment of capacity for individual patients and provide advice to other health professionals on psychological aspects of capacity assessment and appropriate means of enabling patients with reduced capacity to engage in informed decision making Develop, implement and monitor formal psychological intervention plans for a patient's emotional difficulties Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual patients and to provide advice to other health professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other health professionals contributing directly to patients’ formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, formulation and clinical interventions with patients, seeking appropriate supervision for clinical decision making Provide appropriate verbal and written symptom management advice to patients, their families or carers as appropriate With appropriate supervision, maintain and promulgate the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing, and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with the BPS professional codes of practice and ACG policies and procedures Keep people safe from any harm and protect their human rights.
