We have a great opportunity for a HLTA to join our team. An HLTA qualification is desirable but not essential; you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of leading, at some level, within the classroom.
You will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under the supervision of a qualified teacher. This may involve planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress, and development.
Barnsole Primary School is a large 3-form entry school in Gillingham. Our school is spread across two sites and includes a nursery for 3-year-olds. Barnsole Primary School is part of the Maritime Academy Trust, an innovative partnership of schools in Greenwich, Kent, Bexley & Medway.
Our recent successful Ofsted Inspection in February 2024 graded Barnsole as ‘Good,’ which is a recognition of all the hard work and commitment shown by the children, staff, and wider community. Ofsted commented, ‘The school is a calm and orderly environment. Staff have high expectations and pupils behave well. The school aims for pupils to be resilient and have a lifelong curiosity about the world. There are high expectations for all pupils to do well.’
