The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly motivated and innovative North Stroke & Neurological Rehabilitation Team as an AHP Assistant Practitioner. This service has a strong focus on MDT working and person centred care, providing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy to patients with Stroke and neurological conditions across North Lanarkshire. This is a highly specialist, forward thinking team who provide a supportive learning environment and who constantly strive towards improvement and excellence.
What we'll need you to bring
Qualifications and Experience
* HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment
* Completed short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area
Knowledge and Skills
* Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area
* Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group
* Basic assessment skills
* Ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Time management, planning and organisational skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Ability to work individually, or as part of a team
* Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning
* Full valid Driving Licence
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
* Breadth of experience of therapy or rehabilitation / Re-ablement in a health, education or social care environment

This role will be based in North Neuro & Stroke Rehabilitation Team within Coathill Hospital
