About the Role:
Dunbar Education is proud to partner with a dedicated SEN school that supports students aged 11-16 who face social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The Wellbeing Tutor role is vital in helping students overcome these barriers, enabling them to engage in education meaningfully and fostering positive behavioural development. This position is ideal for a nurturing, patient, and empathetic professional committed to providing individualised support for young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic and Emotional Support: Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to plan and deliver high-quality lessons and activities that encourage students to make consistent academic and emotional progress.
2. Targeted Intervention: Conduct off-site one-to-one sessions and small group interventions designed to build confidence, address specific learning needs, and improve students' attitudes towards education and personal development.
3. Safeguarding and Wellbeing: Prioritise safeguarding, ensuring all policies are fully implemented to protect and promote students' wellbeing. Develop a deep understanding of each student's needs, recognising early signs of distress and responding with empathy and professionalism.
