Overview of Responsibilities
This role will have a starting salary of £18,810.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
UKAEA’s Apprenticeship Scheme will allow you to gain the technical knowledge, practical experience, and wider skills and behaviours needed for your immediate job role and future career. The successful apprentice will gain this through a combination of formal off-the-job training and the opportunity to apply these skills in a real work environment through on-the-job training.
The Role

As a level 3 Manufacturing Machinist Apprentice, you will play a pivotal role in participating in ad-hoc technical projects and carry out (under limited supervision) specialist engineering maintenance; primarily for key site projects and programmes but the role regularly diversifies into supporting other areas beyond the Culham site as required by the wider UKAEA activities.
* Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of technical skills.
* Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
£18,810 + excellent benefits including outstanding pension.
* 5 GCSEs A*-C (9-4) including Maths and English.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for the chosen area of work.
