Biocomposites, Ltd. is an international medical devices company that engineers, manufactures and markets world leading products for use in infection management in bone and soft tissue. Based in Keele in Staffordshire, UK, it has global operations across Europe, USA, Canada, Argentina, China and India, and helps more than 1 million patients worldwide every year!
The Manufacturing Operations Technical Support Engineer will provide support for the Biocomposites UK operational area by establishing, maintaining, tracking, and reporting of all associated activities of the technical support team. And will report to the Continuous Improvement and Technical Support Manager.
Location & Working pattern
Primary working location will be the Keele office; however, the role will require working across the production facility and the Trentham warehouse & standard working hours Mon-Fri, 9.00 - 5.00, 35 hours per week, this is flexible given the role.
Responsibilities
* Working with the operations team and other senior leaders to influence resource allocation and optimisation.
* Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards that drive the operational organisation and of the technical support team.
* Establishment and execution of the technical support goals, KPI’s, metrics, and objectives in alignment with the biocomposites goals.
* Completion of appropriately assigned continuous improvement initiatives and communication to appropriate stakeholders.
* Support the process for label and IFU Process.
* Always represent the company in a professional manner to fellow employees and subordinates as well as distributors, customers, and shareholders.
* Support manufacturing in terms of processing CAPA / Complaints in a ‘Rapid Response’ methodology.
* Support the operational team where required in the strategic projects and engineering / design projects.
* Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, including R&D, design, and transfer phases.
* Support process training in manufacturing through the ‘standard training’ initiative.
* Complete risk assessments for all processes within the operations department.
* Complete all COSHH assessments for existing and new chemicals.
* Carry out validation activities as part of the change process when introducing new products or equipment.
* Undertake Value Stream Mapping activities to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* Champion 5S within the business and support the initiative in all areas.
* Completion of any tasks deemed appropriate to support business needs.
Required Experience
* Success in building teams, and managing multiple business projects
* Possess experience in a continuous improvement environment and able to demonstrate successes in this environment
* Ability to grasp highly technical issues and translate them to clear operational advantages.
* Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
* Excellent communication, presentation, meeting, and management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Must be an open, confident team player able to work with diverse personalities within a matrix operation
* Highly professional, impeccable ethics and high integrity
* A passion for listening, particularly to customer comments
* Flexible in work start times and site location
* Full UK driving licence
