About the Team
As an organisation we are focused on becoming a Digital Council and so as a Lead Delivery Manager you will work across the Council's Digital, Data & Tech Portfolio as part of a development team consisting of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Chatbot developers, who develop process automation and chatbots to help us deliver better services to our residents.
About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Automation Delivery Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of automation projects from the Discovery phase through to 'go live' and provide ongoing support during business as usual (BAU) operations.
As our Delivery Manager, you will report to the Programme Manager and work closely with business partners, project managers, and team leaders across the organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to keep stakeholders informed about the latest Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and chatbot capabilities, while assisting teams in identifying suitable candidates for automation.
You will play a crucial role in managing and prioritising all RPA and chatbot projects, ensuring they meet the definitions of 'Ready' and 'Done'. This involves arranging and facilitating workshops to demonstrate the latest capabilities of RPA and chatbots, and working closely with teams that may be impacted by or require knowledge of pending automation projects.
A key aspect of your role will be to manage and track the benefits realisation for each project. You will ensure that benefits are agreed upon and tracked prior to any development. Upon go live, you will oversee handovers to services, ensuring they are well-prepared for BAU processes. Additionally, you will facilitate review meetings, such as 'Lessons Learned' sessions, to capture feedback and promote continuous improvement.
You will also be responsible for exploring new capabilities and functionalities that can enhance our ways of working. Balancing the delivery of new automations with maintenance tasks is essential, as is minimising technical debt and the risk of failures by prioritising necessary maintenance work. Ensuring that folder structures and documentation are kept consistent and accurate is also a key part of your responsibilities.
