We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with strong knowledge of NEC (New Engineering Contract) frameworks and a proven track record in managing monthly revenue forecasts. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the commercial management of contracts, ensuring profitability, compliance, and efficiency across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the administration of NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, timely submissions, and effective communication with all stakeholders.
* Develop, monitor, and manage monthly revenue forecasts, ensuring accuracy in revenue projections and identification of potential risks or opportunities.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with NEC contracts, ensuring cost-effective solutions and minimizing financial exposure.
* Work closely with project teams to develop and maintain accurate cost controls, budgetary management, and profitability analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth contract execution, timely resolution of issues, and high levels of client satisfaction.
* Oversee the management of variations, claims, and contractual changes in accordance with NEC processes, ensuring appropriate financial recovery where applicable.
* Provide accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow forecasting, and cost/value reconciliations.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial strategies that align with business objectives and enhance profitability.
* Collaborate with other departments such as finance, legal, and operations to ensure comprehensive management of contractual and financial obligations.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in commercial management, with a strong background in NEC contract administration.
* In-depth understanding of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4) and their application in project management.
* Experience in revenue forecasting and managing project finances.
* Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data to inform decision-making.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on risk management and mitigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Finance, or related field.
* Professional certifications such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are advantageous.
