We have a beautiful school building, with a long history and extensive grounds for the children to enjoy. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Site Manager to join our primary school team. This is a key role in ensuring that our school is safe, clean, and well-maintained, providing a positive environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be the premises key holder ensuring the school environment is secure and will be responsible for the unlocking of the premises and will attend alarm call outs out of normal hours where necessary. The Site Manager will ensure safety inspections and relevant paperwork are completed to ensure a safe school environment is maintained. Maintenance of the site will be the Site Managers responsibility in agreement with the headteacher/School Business Manager with daily and termly inspections and will be required to be an active member of the school’s Health and Safety Committee. The Site Manager will carry out the role in managing, supporting and monitoring cleaning staff ensuring quality and standards are maintained with collaborative support from the School Business Manager. The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring, control and ordering of materials and equipment for required duties. The role will also require carrying out cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing etc. Key Responsibilities: · Overseeing the security, safety, and maintenance of the school site · Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance · Managing cleaning staff and ensuring high cleaning standards · Conducting regular health & safety checks, including fire safety procedures · Operate the school’s road closure between 8:30 – 9:00 and 3:00 – 3:30 · Liaising with contractors and external service providers · Ensuring the site is well-prepared for school activities and events. What We’re Looking For: · Experience in site management, caretaking, or a similar role. · Knowledge of health & safety procedures and regulations · Understanding of security systems, fire alarms, and general maintenance · Ability to carry out basic DIY tasks and oversee contractors. · A proactive and reliable individual with excellent organisational skills · A commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake any service specific training such as manual handling, ladder training, electrical awareness etc. On occasion, overtime may be required to support the school, paid at the appropriate rate of pay. Holidays are to be taken during school closures on dates to be agreed.
