You'll have the opportunity to:

About you
You don't need experience to become a Children's Support Worker at MacIntyre. We’re looking for passionate individuals who have the right attitude, and share our values. If you’re someone who celebrates differences, values inclusion, and is eager to learn, you’ll be a great fit for our team.
You do not need to be a driver for this role, as long as you have a reliable means of getting to work. Woodland View is located about 2 miles away from central St Albans.
Who are we?
MacIntyre Woodland View offers 24/7 support for children and young people with learning disabilities and autism. The home is equipped to support young people with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, social communication issues and associated behavioural and medical needs. Each child and young person with us at Woodland View has their own tailored care plan, designed to ensure their sensory, auditory, emotional and physical needs are met in ways that make sense to them.
Woodland View is a stable, caring and supportive environment, in which the children we support can explore their passions and develop the skills and confidence necessary to fulfil their potential. We offer individualised, child-centred approaches, and work with each young person and their families to build bespoke support that makes a real difference. We are Ofsted-rated ‘Good’, with the following comments made in our most recent inspection report:
“Children were observed to be happy, playful and relaxed with the staff. Staff have meaningful relationships with children, and they show children genuine care and interest. Children feel secure, valued and loved.”
“One child said, ‘Staff take me to the library often, because it is my favourite activity.’ Parents are welcomed to participate in activities in and out of the home. Children thoroughly enjoy these fun and enriching experiences.”
“Staff have a good understanding of safeguarding. They understand the additional vulnerability of disabled children. They are aware of signs that could indicate safeguarding concerns.”
Training and Development
At Macintyre we fully support your training and development to become the best Support Worker you can be. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.
But it doesn't stop there - throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated in house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR Teams. These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities - all free of charge.
