Marketing & Business Development Manager at Ian Mankin Ltd
As the Quality & Compliance Manager, you will focus on quality, testing and compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring that the raw materials sourced and the textile products manufactured by our company comply with internal quality standards as well as customer specifications and industry regulations. In addition to the internal focus you will work closely with external test laboratories and trade bodies to keep up-to-date with current standards and legislation and implement necessary updates within the business. Over time this role will evolve to advance our own sustainability journey whilst ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
Within this role you will:
* Develop and implement a quality management system, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations
* Partner with suppliers to ensure they supply raw materials and finishing services to specification and a consistently high level of quality & service
* Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of raw materials and textile products
* Work with Production and Design teams on new developments & collections to ensure raw materials and fabrics are fit for both production and purpose
* Coordinate with production and sales/design teams to address quality issues
* Carry-out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues
* Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality
* Monitor and analyse quality data to measure the cost of quality and detect areas for improvement
* Document quality assurance activities and prepare reports for management
* Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of fabric test methods & standards for relevant customer industries, in particular furnishings, to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
* Ensure relevant labelling requirements are kept up-to-date and compliant
* Keep up-to-date with relevant UK, EU and wider world regulations with regard to compliance for the sale and distribution of textiles, for example REACH, GPSR, etc
* Train and mentor all staff on quality assurance best practices.
About you
* You’ll have strong experience in textiles, particularly woven fabrics
* Have an analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
* Be a methodical thinker with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
* Can manage multiple tasks and prioritise your workload effectively
* Excellent knowledge of industry standards, regulations and testing methods
* Be a fantastic team player, able to collaborate with multiple teams when needed.
