Career opportunity for a skilled injection moulding tool setter for a precision plastic injection moulding company who provide a world class quality product and service.
Purpose:
You will be responsible for the initial set up the mould tools at the beginning of a production run and
be a technical "go to" person and key problem solver on the production shift.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
Take a "safety first" approach to all activities, to protect the health and safety of yourself and
all colleagues/visitors on site.
Apply technical knowledge to the set-up of each job in terms of quality and machine
operation, taking responsibility for achieving an optimum operational condition at the start of
each run.
Carry out tool changes, ensuring tools are set with the correct validated settings in accordance
with SOPs and customer requirements.
In between discrete set ups, monitor the operational performance of a suite of tools across
production and intervene when an actual or potential issue arises.
Complete required paperwork at the start, end and throughout shifts
Ensure that the agreed quality standards are met consistently and that any non-conformance's
are identified and rectified in a timely manner
Work closely with colleagues to identify and implement performance improvements
Be a point of contact for colleagues on technical queries or problem solving/ decision making
Support team members to improve in all areas, demonstrating the required standard,
monitoring and developing new skills acquisition.
Promote good standards of housekeeping and compliance with procedures and agreed
working practices
Physical demands include
Prolonged periods working on feet and requires reaching, bending, grasping and using tools
and moving around the factory.
Must be able to lift up to 15 kg of plastic raw materials at a time.
Manual dexterity when handling parts or using cutting/assembly tools.
Good eyesight (including with glasses/lenses) to read instructions, operate machines, and
inspect parts.
