The role
We are seeking an experienced QA Manager to oversee quality assurance processes for pharmaceutical distribution and pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance. The QA Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards of quality and compliance. This role is based in our Cardiff registered wholesale warehouse, which supplies the pharmacy with medications and supplements for customer orders.
You’ll be:
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Leading management reviews, documenting meetings, tracking action items, and driving continuous improvement.
* Collaborating with the Responsible Person (RP), Superintendent Pharmacist, and Regulatory Manager to ensure compliance with MHRA, GPhC, and FBO regulations.
* Managing internal audits, reviewing findings, identifying gaps, and driving improvements.
* Preparing for external inspections and audits, ensuring compliance documentation is in place.
* Overseeing supplier approval and audit processes, ensuring GDP compliance.
* Maintaining Quality Technical Agreements and Service Level Agreements and managing annual supplier requalification for RP approval.
* Managing quality documentation, including SOPs, change controls, and batch records.
* Implementing and maintaining risk management protocols, including risk assessments, CAPAs, and deviation management.
* Designing and managing quality training programs and ensuring timely completion of training records.
* Supporting the RP in managing incidents, recalls, and customer complaints through timely investigations and corrective actions.
* Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and implementing best practices in quality management.
* Conducting quality checks on incoming products, working with the Warehouse Manager to isolate non-compliant stock, and maintaining accurate documentation of QA activities.
We’re looking for someone who has:
* Extensive experience in quality assurance roles, ideally within healthcare or pharmaceutical environments.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment and implement streamlined quality processes.
* Prior knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality management systems, particularly within pharmaceutical distribution.
It’s a bonus if you have:
* A degree within a STEM field.
* Experience with MHRA, GPhC, and FBO regulations.
* Expertise in conducting audits and preparing for external inspections.
