Are you an analytical thinker with strong people management skills? Do you have a background in the operation of sewage and sludge treatment processes and biogas plants? If so, we have an opportunity to join the team as a Bioresources Asset Manager.
What you'll do
The Bioresources team operates all sludge treatment centres with biogas production plants at Wessex Water. As a Bioresources Asset Manager, you will facilitate the delivery of maintenance and operational engineering to ensure the safe operation of Bioresources assets across the five biogas sites including Avonmouth water recycling centre (our largest and most sophisticated one).
In this role, you will ensure regulatory standards are always met regarding the delivery of ATEX Inspections and safety critical maintenance, while ensuring the availability of equipment to deliver our corporate energy generation targets. You will provide input to the planning and commissioning of capital and construction schemes.
Your role will also involve:
1. Maximising availability of assets by delivering proactive maintenance in line with manufacturers' recommendations.
2. Creating and implementing a maintenance strategy prioritising process safety critical assets to enable asset maintenance and inspection to fall in line with manufacturer recommendations and ensure compliance with our regulating bodies.
3. Creating KPIs relating to the adherence to scheduled maintenance requirements, such as MTTR-MTTF, and preventative and reactive works.
4. Providing proactive awareness to staff to improve safety and reduce accidents/incidents.
5. Ensuring good liaison with contractors and internal departments to ensure consistent approaches to engineering challenges.
6. Delivering positive cultural and organisational change in line with the bioresources leadership team objectives.
7. Tactical emergency response management in the event of an incident in the bioresources business area.
8. Prioritising capital maintenance needs to ensure resources are focused on the right way internally and externally and budgets are spent in the most effective way in line with our objectives.
9. Proactively managing operational engineering contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety, regulations and standards, and value.
10. Maintaining regular interfaces with other departments to deliver operational maintenance and inspections efficiently, minimising downtime and optimising the delivery of maintenance and inspections to reduce unnecessary shutdowns.
11. Delivering a continuous improvement programme reviewing first-line maintenance (oiling and greasing schedules) to reduce costly and high-risk reactive work.
12. Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the engineering function to ensure we are delivering a high-quality service, ensuring we are prioritising safety, compliance, and cost.
13. Supporting procurement colleagues with using suppliers and service providers by ensuring they are competent and capable of fulfilling our requirements.
14. Continual professional development tailored to support the business functions and responsibilities set out above.
