Finanace Management Accountant
Full time in the Beaconsfield head office
Purpose of the Role
A Management Accountant is an integral position within the finance department. The key function of this role is to analyze financial information and implement effective strategies to enhance overall business performance. Combining both accounting and management skills, the Management Accountant has overall accountability for preparing, developing and applying findings from financial reports.
Responsibilities include maintaining financial policies and management information systems, alongside establishing effective communication channels to inform management on all aspects of company finance. Management Accountant responsibilities:
• Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
• Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
• Produce month end and year end journals
• Prepare statutory and management accounts
• Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
• Manage capital expenditure
• Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
• Lead, manage, guide and motivate a team
• Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
• Analyzing and managing risk within the business.
Skills required for the job
Management accountants are expected to have excellent analytical and numerical skills whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail. A solid foundation of basic accountancy skills is also required for this role including an understanding of the generally accepted accounting principles. An understanding of business is also important for management accountants along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels to advise and liaise with senior members of staff. The duties of a management accountant should be carried out with a high degree of organisational and strategic thinking skills.

Education
• Ideally a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role
• AAT qualified or working towards (desirable)
• ACA/ACCA part qualified
• Credit Control certification desirable
