The successful candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills, be motivated, approachable and enthusiastic to ensure that a quality and efficient service is provided to the clinical teams. The post holder must have the ability to work on their own initiative. They will also need to be able to prioritize their workload and work under pressure.
The Receptionist/ Administrator is an integral part of the Moor Green and BISC teams and is the first point of contact for patients and visitors on arrival.
You should have excellent keyboard skills and a working knowledge of Windows based computer packages, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Main duties of the job
* To receive and greet patients, clients and visitors to the Service, ensuring a polite, efficient and professional introduction is given to all patients, staff and other visitors.
* To assist the BISC Medical secretary with a variety of administration tasks i.e booking appts, liaising with patients and clinicians, monitoring a waiting list, etc.
* Ensure patients/visitors are seen within agreed timescales, ensuring escalation procedures are followed and any other issues or concerns are escalated to appropriate staff.
* To liaise with transport and interpreting services when required and escalate any issues to the appropriate staff.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
Moor Green Outpatient Service provides rehabilitation daily (Monday to Friday) to adults with an acquired brain injury (ABI). Any adult over the age of 16 who lives in the West Midlands and who has experienced an acquired brain injury (i.e stroke, traumatic brain injury resulting from an accident or assault) may be able attend Moor Green. This service is provided by a team of clinical professionals and support staff who aim to provide integrated services in ways that best meet the needs of patients.
BISC (Brain Injury Specialist Clinic) provides a consultant led clinic-based service to people with acquired brain injuries over the age of 16 within the West Midlands. The clinical team consist of Consultant in Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech and language Therapist, Clinical Psychologist and Medical Secretary. This service provides specialist advice, referrals to appropriate services for further rehabilitation, vocational training and support i.e Moor Green and short-term interventions from team members if appropriate.
The post holder will provide administrative and business support to the Services.
To work as part of a team to carry out administrative duties on a day-to-day basis. This may include covering essential and appropriate operational duties in the absence of colleagues and knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to prioritise their workload and have excellent communication skills. They must be confident and competent to provide efficient administrative support to the Medical Secretary as required. They must be able to work and liaise with external support providers i.e interpreters.
Person Specification
Essential
* GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English
* Relevant experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of database input and databases producing standard reports
* IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
