Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A primary school in Blackburn is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with additional needs, potentially through to Year 6.
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 4 Support
Location: Blackburn
Hours: Full-time, 08:45 – 15:30, Monday to Friday
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: Ongoing, potentially until Year 6
Experience: SEN experience preferred, but KS2 experience is essential.

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the pupil, providing focused support during lessons and helping with their personal, social, and emotional development. You will work in close collaboration with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement strategies that enable the pupil to reach their full potential.
What We’re Looking For:
1. KS2 Experience is Essential: You must have experience supporting children in Key Stage 2, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and age-appropriate learning needs.
2. SEN Experience Desired: While previous experience working with children with additional needs is preferred, it’s not essential if you are eager to learn and develop your skills in this area.
3. Patience, Empathy & Adaptability: The ability to build positive relationships and adapt to the pupil’s individual needs.
4. Team Player: You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create a supportive learning environment.
5. Qualifications: A TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) is preferred.
