Rossall School is among the most successful and prestigious independent boarding and day schools in the North West with flourishing pupil numbers.
With an enticing and highly aspirational culture, Rossall School is offering opportunities for exceptional educators to come and work with supremely talented, inspiring and compassionate professionals to teach our hard working, ambitious and delightful pupils.
We are seeking an inspiring, enthusiastic Teacher of Economics and Business Studies to join our successful, dynamic, motivated and forward-thinking teaching team. This would be a fantastic opportunity for an ECT or Trainee teacher to join a highly supportive and hugely successful department, or an experienced teacher looking to have the opportunity to teach across different curricula including A Levels and the International Baccalaureate.
Economics and Business are exceptionally popular at the school and many pupils leave Rossall electing to study a university degree closely related to one of these two subjects. There are four teachers within the Economics and Business departments and all teaching takes place in a designated department area. Classrooms are well equipped including access to PCs and interactive televisions and all pupils are expected to bring devices to lessons to facilitate learning. The subject is well resourced and members of the department work collaboratively to share good practice and track students’ progress through regular formative and summative assessments.
Students are well prepared for the entrance exams for competitive degree courses, and are encouraged to participate in national competitions such as The John Locke Essay competition or the Royal Economics Society competition.
We offer courses in EDEXCEL A Level Business and AQA A Level Economics. We also offer courses at both Higher and Standard level for the International Baccalaureate in Economics and Business Management.
