Job Description
Glasgow City Council is currently recruiting a full-time peripatetic Child Development Officer who will be based in Hazelwood School.
Child Development Officers provide support and care whilst promoting the development of independence, competence and confidence in our youngest learners.
The Child Development Officer will provide short term and targeted outreach support in response to the needs of Early Years Centres and Primary Schools across the Early Level.
The role is to build capacity through staff development, coaching and mentoring within the early years / Early Level context which will in turn support relevant and appropriate professional development as well as successfully supporting inclusion.
In addition, you will be required to effectively engage with families and education, health and social care professionals, as and when required.
Applicants must possess a relevant qualification such as the HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 (formerly HNC Early Education and Childcare), SVQ Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7, National Nursery Examination Board certificate (NNEB), or equivalent, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children's services.
This position is subject to membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
