An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.4 WTE, band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Prosthetic Service.
The regional Prosthetic Service is one of the largest in the UK and has a full complement of highly skilled consultants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, prosthetists, healthcare assistants, and prosthetics technicians who specialise in the treatment of adults and children amputees.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate clinical knowledge of core key nursing skills to ensure they have the ability to work effectively and independently within this multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate leadership skills to assist in the development and growth of this established team providing clinical wound management, knowledge of long-term conditions, training and supervision to qualified and unqualified staff, and also be able to influence service improvement at local and regional levels.

Main duties of the job
The job holder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The job holder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, and the setting of standards of care.
The job holder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment, and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the specialty service. The job holder will ensure cost-effective use of resources.
The job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and whole service working. As a role model, they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective, and efficient care. The job holder will provide training and education to staff groups, patients, and families/carers.

Leadership
* Provide a visible clinical lead and role model to the nursing and wider team by delivering high quality compassionate care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for children's areas (Level 1 or 2).
* Recognised teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent experience of teaching and assessment.
