The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting and growing the Manufacturing Department, managing a small team focused on assembly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in aerospace manufacturing engineering, particularly with a focus on assembly engineering. What You'll Do As Manufacturing Leader, your role will be central to the success of the Manufacturing Department’s growth and overall performance. You’ll be responsible for managing a small team focused on assembly, ensuring that all manufacturing instructions are created and maintained to the highest standard. Your expertise in identifying tooling requirements will be crucial in managing the design, supply and commissioning of tooling and associated shop floor equipment. You will also play an integral part in New Product Introduction (NPI) project teams, liaising with other manufacturing divisions and departments. Your ability to assist with internal and external audits will be key to maintaining quality standards. Daily leadership of a small Engineering Team focused on assembly Creation and maintenance of manufacturing instructions, SOP’s, technique sheets and work instructions for the assembly of various components Identification of tooling requirements and management of the design, supply and commissioning of tooling and associated shop floor equipment Assistance with the resolution of day-to-day manufacturing problems/issues Support for lean/improvement projects Raising and coordinating customer/supplier query notes Playing an integral part of NPI project teams, including reporting of progress to plans Internal liaison with other manufacturing divisions and departments Assistance with internal and external audits Customer/Supplier interface on specific projects What You Bring The ideal candidate for this Manufacturing Leader position brings a wealth of experience in aerospace manufacturing engineering. Your experience with manual assembly and knowledge of aerospace specifications will be invaluable in this role, as will your understanding of Project Management principles and tools, particularly on NPI applications. Your familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools will be key to improving efficiency within the department.
