To work in a professional and flexible manner that meets the demands of the College. To complete all types of painting and decorating activities both internally and externally, including site preparation, colour matching, surface preparation and applying paint and other finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces. Key Responsibilities: Respond to painter and decorator general maintenance related defect reports as required; carry out initial investigation and carry out repairs/works Work within the redecoration programme set out by the Facilities Manager to ensure all areas of the college are maintained throughout the year Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and washing walls Apply paint and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, all painting and colour will adhere to the corporate colour and building specification Mix and match paint colours to achieve desired results Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and meets health and safety regulations Work collaboratively with other team members to complete projects on time To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you: Level 2 NVQ in painting and decorating Proven experience as a painter and decorator Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent attention to detail Evidence of commitment to professional development A good standard of Maths and English Diversity and Inclusion: Equality, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are central to the work of City of Portsmouth College.
