Protocol Education are working with an OFSTED Good rated Nursery based near the city centre to appoint an Early Years Room lead for their Rising 2's room.
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday - Friday 40 hours per week. 8.00-18.00
Pay: £12.90-£14.50 per hour (dependent on experience & qualifications).
The Nursery:
The nursery is a caring and nurturing setting for children from 0-5 years old. The nursery is set in a vibrant and welcoming building with onsite garden spaces that wrap around the nursery. They have a private outdoor play space as well as easy access to some of Bristol's most beautiful and stimulating natural environments. The children's rooms are set across different levels of the building, enabling wide opportunities where children can play, learn and explore at different ages and stages of their early years. The staff go the extra mile, they are the epitome of conscientious and brilliantly creative childcarers. Overview:
The Nursery Room Leader plays a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children in our nursery. This position requires a passionate individual who is dedicated to early childhood education and possesses strong leadership skills. The Nursery Room Leader will oversee daily activities, manage staff, and ensure that each child receives the highest standard of care and education.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the nursery team to deliver exceptional childcare services.
* Develop and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to the needs of children.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children in the nursery.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and well-being.
* Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to parents on their achievements.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as nursery policies.
* Organise activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development among children.
* Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and any incidents that may occur.
Skills:
* Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
* Strong leadership abilities to manage a team effectively.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences.
* Experience working with children in a nursery setting is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational skills to manage daily operations smoothly.
* A genuine passion for nurturing young minds and fostering their development.
The role of the leader would include:
* Make accurate and effective assessments, which reflect the needs, interests and stages of development of the child by supporting the delivery of the key person approach.
* Ensuring an enabling environment is provided with consistent stimulating and inspiring activities for the children in both the indoor and outdoor area as a continuous provision.
* Ensure that British Values are incorporated and demonstrated through Early Years Foundation Stage learning and play.
* Safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children in line with our child protection and keeping everyone safe policies and procedures.
* Ensure internal policies and procedures are adhered to while also meeting the external legislation and guidelines from our governing bodies.
* Promote and follow guidelines implemented for managing behaviour including supporting children to manage their own feelings and behaviours.
* Continually work in partnership with colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals to meet the individual needs of the children ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach is maintained at all times.
* Offer child-led learning opportunities through following children's interest and learning.
Experience Essential:
* Work experience within the Early Years sector.
Knowledge Essential:
* Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Qualifications Essential:
* Full and relevant Level 3 or above Childcare qualification.
