Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join the Construction team at our Cambridge Campus. We are seeking a self-motivated and confident individual to support activities within our busy Construction Workshops. As the successful candidate for this exiting role, you will find there is a variety of tasks to be undertaken each day. Preparation of workshop areas and resources is key to our students learning, and you will be able to work on your own initiative to ensure tools and materials are in the right place at the right time. Working alongside teaching colleagues you will be key to the smooth running of practical classes. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain and repair all equipment in all workshops and training areas; prepare and set up equipment, tool and assessment areas for practical sessions and demonstrations, assist lecturing staff during practical sessions and demonstrations and maintain good Health & Safety during workshop sessions. You will need to be able to demonstrate practical skills in a construction related trade, and have knowledge of the associated tools, equipment and materials used. Experience of a similar role within further education would be advantageous, although full training will be given. The post holder should have good interpersonal skills, administrative and communication skills, be organised and able to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will need at least a Level 2 Diploma in a Construction related trade or relevant trade experience.
