Location: Wakefield Working hours: 40 hours per week Salary: £30,000 About the Role: We are looking for a Yard Team Leader to join our busy Wakefield team. Responsibilities include: Effectively lead the yard team Process vehicles and carry out vehicle checks Ensure that levels of customer service within the function are exceptional at all times Take responsibility for yard & site health, safety & security Be an effective member of the operations team driving business performance Deliver exceptional standards and quality performance across all areas of the auction centre Effective management and development of people Develop and implement best in class processes Provide excellent management, delegation and control of wide span of responsibilities Adopt a continuous improvement approach Build strong relationships throughout the business Duties include: Effectively lead the Yard team Provide visible, respectful leadership to the Yard team and be the technical expert for direct reports Maintain all systems ensuring that adequate and appropriate records are created and maintained Manage the direct reports to achieve agreed outputs Embed KPI’s to manage performance across team Process vehicles and carry out vehicle checks Book vehicles in and out using the handheld device Conduct vehicle security checks Update all paperwork and barcodes appropriately Dispatch documentation to the administrative staff Report all vehicle defects in a timely manner Refuel vehicles as per procedure Jump start or battery start vehicles as per procedure Ensure that vehicles are prepared for sales in line with site processes Process vehicles through the sale Prepare vehicles for collections post sale Ensure that levels of customer service within the function are exceptional at all times Consistently work in a way that delivers exceptional customer service Deal with complaints as necessary Escalate complaints as necessary Ensure the complaint is logged by the appropriate person on every occasion Ensure feedback is learned from and work in a way that supports continuous improvement Ensure a safe working environment at all times, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment Identify and report any broken or faulty equipment, hardware etc. Consistently adhere to current legislation & Company policies Drive legally & in consideration to other road users at all times Report any & all accidents/incidents, whether on or off site, in-line with
