Teaching Assistant
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Employment: Full-time, term-time only
Hours: Mon - Thurs 8:15 am - 4:30 pm, Fri 8:15 am - 2:45 pm

Are you passionate about collaborating with a team to help vulnerable young students access the education they deserve?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school serving students aged 7 to 18 with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with a focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Supporting students in both indoor and outdoor activities to foster a positive and engaging learning environment
- Assisting in childcare tasks and contributing to effective educational practices
- Observing for any signs of distress or concerns and responding appropriately
- Building rapport with students through active listening, conversation, and behavior observation
- Participating in care planning, review sessions, and other essential meetings
- Attending staff meetings to ensure smooth communication and compliance with school policies
- Managing and mitigating student risks during educational activities
- Preparing, organising, and displaying student work
- Collaborating with other professionals such as Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Residential Care Workers as needed
- Patience, reliability, and the ability to work independently with a proactive attitude
- Experience with children and young people with SEND, especially SEMH needs, ASC, and ADHD
- GCSEs in Math, English, and Science
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEND (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Level 3 Award in Special Educational Needs and Disability) are desirable
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- A self-starter with high motivation and dedication to the role
- A full manual driving license is preferred, due to the nature of activities and location
