Your new opportunity Quarriers Ayrshire Youth Housing Support Service is accessible to all young people aged 16 25 who may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The service aims to support the Councils goal of reducing levels of repeat homelessness by providing a high-quality housing support service through our supported accommodation in Ayr and our Outreach services across South and East Ayrshire. The role of Navigator is a Full Time Permanent position offering 39 hours per week to support young people who are struggling with life transitions, The role will offer a flexible & responsive support for young people when required. Weekend on/Weekend off the hours are flexible between 8am and 8pm. The Role: Provide holistic support to young people, which enables them to identify and own their own plan and support them to navigate their route to positive life choices/destinations. Work directly with young people to gain their trust and support them in devising and implementing personalised, holistic life-skills programmes that will encourage their motivation and resolve, and equip them for independent living. Represent the needs of young people through proactive liaison with education, skills development, employers and other bodies to coordinate and promote the most suitable opportunities for each young person. Work alongside Quarriers Teams, engaging with Quarriers services for young people in Ayrshire. Manage your working week and allocate your time to provide the most appropriate support to young people. This may involve working early mornings or evenings and weekends to support young people. Provide consistent support for young people aged 16 25yrs at all key life transitions, offering support to navigate the key stages and decisions they face through range of coaching, advocacy and support skills which fully promotes the young persons participation. Provide and co-ordinate a range of initial and longer term services to unaccompanied asylum seeking young people in order to provide access to relevant information, knowledge, skills and support networks that will assist young people to settle into a new home and integrate into the local community. Assess the need of unaccompanied asylum seeking young people and provide direct support which recognises the trauma they may have experienced as they adjust to life in the local community. Liaise with the Scottish Guardianship Service to provide support and advocacy for unaccompanied asylum seeking young people and advice and guidance for young people in relation to their immigration and asylum status. Key Objectives and Accountabilities: Facilitate individual and groupwork for young people engaged, including issue-based workshops that respond to their current needs. Evidence the effectiveness of your direct work with young people and the outcomes achieved. Develop and participate in personalised support plans that identifies measures and activities to support the achievement of the young persons personalised outcomes. Emotional regulation, Health, wellbeing and lifestyle, Learning, work and money management, Relationships, community, Suitable accommodation, Rights and legal issues and digital inclusion. Support young people to engage in experiences that promote their motivation, self-confidence, independent living skills, and emotional resilience. Source, develop and support opportunities for young people to engage with local community services. Ensure all young people are encouraged to participate in assessing and developing the project. Produce and present monitoring and evaluation reports as requested.
