Electrical Lead Utilities Technician

Location: Blanchardstown, Dublin
39 Hours per week
Overview of the role:
The utilities electrical lead technician will work as part of the utilities group responsible for the operation and maintenance of the utilities systems on site. As a Utilities technician you will be responsible for responding to all operational associated issues on utilities equipment. You will also carry out routine maintenance as part of the site wide maintenance system.
Day to day of the role:
1. Operation, Maintenance and troubleshooting of site black & clean utilities systems and associated electrical system
2. Assist site-based technicians with maintenance tasks as prescribed
3. Assist site based technicians with problem solving and fault finding
4. Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines
5. Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements
6. Keep training current in line with client's requirements, i.e. SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI's (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.
7. All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines
8. Liaise with client engineering
9. Any other activities as directed by the Veolia Site Manager
10. Prepare method statements and risk assessments
11. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
12. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and to ensure compliance with codes
13. Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on all operational equipment
14. Proactively problem solve to ensure that operational issues are solved permanently
15. Ensure corrective action is taken, as required, for all equipment and operational problems to drive continuous improvement in the Plant
16. Plan and develop maintenance plans where required
Required skills for this role:
1. Time served electrician - Essential
2. Proven (3+ years) experience in high volume manufacturing facility
3. Working knowledge of automation and control systems
4. Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment
5. Strong problem solving and fault-finding skills
6. Good interpersonal skills and a self-starter
7. Motor Controls
8. AC/DC drives
9. Medium Voltage and Low Voltage diagnostic, maintenance experience essential
10. Must be highly computer literate Word, Excel
11. Must Have previous experience working with Computer Maintenance management systems
12. SCADA system experience
13. Building Management systems
14. Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams
