Our Meal Solutions division is committed to producing delicious, safe, and nutritious meals, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Technical to lead our technical operations across our Sheffield and Grimsby sites. The Role: As the Head of Technical, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical and quality functions at both the Sheffield and Grimsby sites. The role will involve working across both locations, with site-based time allocated to one site at a time as needed based on business demands. Reporting directly to you, the Site Managers for both sites will be integral to ensuring the smooth running of technical operations. Additionally, you will have responsibility for overseeing hygiene at the Sheffield site. Your primary focus will be ensuring all products meet rigorous food safety, quality, and regulatory standards while driving a culture of continuous improvement. You will also be expected to manage technical teams, oversee audits, and support business planning and strategy. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical teams at both the Sheffield and Grimsby sites, driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Oversee hygiene management at the Sheffield site, ensuring adherence to all relevant food safety and hygiene standards. Develop and implement a 3-year business plan for technical operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and driving the technical agenda across the sites. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring all technical requirements and specifications are met to the highest standards. Lead and manage auditing processes (both internal and external), addressing any non-conformance issues promptly and effectively. Collaborate with senior management teams to implement strategies, drive innovation, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). Lead and influence the technical direction of the Meal Solutions division, ensuring that both sites meet and exceed food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Champion a culture of innovation and improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve technical efficiencies across the sites. Essential Requirements: Proven experience at Head of Technical or Group Technical Manager level, ideally within the food manufacturing or foodservice industry. Demonstrated multi-site leadership experience, with a clear understanding of the complexities involved in managing technical operations across different locations. Significant experience working within the food industry with strong technical knowledge. Relevant technical qualifications, degrees, and accreditations (e.g., HACCP, food safety certifications). Extensive auditing experience and a deep understanding of relevant food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., BRC). Proven track record in business planning, including the development of long-term strategies (such as 3-year business plans) and driving the technical agenda.
