I am recruiting for my client near Wymondham who are looking for a Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Buying, the successful candidate will ensure all goods and services sourced and purchased at the lowest overall cost while meeting the company's timeline requirements. Duties will include:
1. Assisting the purchasing manager and the wider team with all buying activities.
2. Monitor, plan and manage UK stock levels
3. Raise and monitor purchase orders
4. Collate and review required technical information
5. Manage the pricing database and ensure the validity dates are monitored and updated.
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
7. Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement plans
8. Work with the new product development function to source new items
9. Liaise with and support the supply chain team to e3nsure material availability
Requirements for the role:
10. Recent experience in a purchasing role
11. High attention to detail
12. Excellent commercial focus with strong negotation skills
13. Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office
14. Enthusiasm with a passion for food
15. Experience in an FMCG environment
This role is office based with hybrid working offered (2 days a week) and free onsite parking is provided. There could be a need for the occasional travel so flexibility is required.
