Overview
SITU, working in collaboration with the Barton & Pooley Bridge Community Fund (registered charity no. 1188122), is seeking a Project Coordinator to work on average four days a month until June 2026. This role will involve helping set up SITU as a CIO, exploring additional funding streams, monitoring the success of this year’s bus service, and assisting in the further development of SITU projects. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of project outcomes agreed with our funder. This position requires strong organisational, communication, and time management skills, along with a passion for the issues underlying SITU’s vision.
Duties
* Coordinate project activities, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within scope.
* Establish SITU as a CIO.
* Assist with setting up, monitoring, and managing the funding of the 2025 bus service.
* Help develop a sustainable funding structure for SITU projects.
* Work with other stakeholders towards SITU objectives.
* Establish a replicable, scalable model for rural transport projects.
Experience
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of people at different levels within organisations.
* A collaborative approach to working, while able to take the initiative and work independently within the project scope.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Good time management and strong organisational skills.
* Proficient in Word and Excel.
* Project management, fundraising, visitor management, and charity experience will be helpful but not vital; personal qualities, temperament, a genuine interest in the issues, and a willingness to learn are more important than prior experience.
Location
Familiarity with or residence near Ullswater in the Lake District will be an advantage but is not essential. An ability to visit Ullswater easily from time to time is likely to be required.
