About the Opportunity
Commercial Director who will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing appropriate commercial strategies required in order to meet the objectives of the NNEP framework. The Commercial Director will be required to maximise opportunities for generating revenue, profit and sustainable growth throughout the lifetime of the NNEP programme. The Commercial Director will play an integral role in determining our pricing models and leverage our market understanding to steer the direction of NNEP. With extensive commercial awareness coupled with a strategic mindset and excellent communication and leadership skills.
The job holder will be responsible for Commercial, Procurement and Supply chain strategy, aligning with the central EAS capability. The role will be accountable for the Sales and proposals team, and developing Strategic relationships with AWE, new and existing Partners and the Supply chain to complement the capabilities of Jacobs and meet the requirements of the NNEP (and wider AWE) scope requirements.
Key Tasks: (accountabilities):
• Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of the organisation's business strategy, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and goals.
• Project Management: Oversee and manage all commercial aspects of large-scale, multi-billion-dollar construction projects throughout their entire life cycle, from initiation to closure.
• Risk Mitigation and Opportunity Identification: Effectively manage risks and seize opportunities to ensure the district's commercial success.
• Team Management: Foster a collaborative environment, providing focus, support, and innovative solutions to the team while encouraging feedback and adaptation to evolving project requirements.
• Financial Management: Contribute to setting and achieving P&L, budget, and forecast goals, oversee progress reporting and income forecasting accuracy, and optimize project cash flow through active invoice collection and identification of invoicing opportunities.
• Contract Management: Ensure contracts are in place with external sub-consultants before commencing work, representing the district in client meetings related to commercial matters.
• Reporting and Analysis: Support senior management in comprehending the project's commercial status through comprehensive reporting and analysis, including reviewing data and reports from other organisations, preparing ad hoc reports, and reconciliations.
• Training and Development: Assist in the development and delivery of training materials to enhance the capabilities of the team, identifying areas for improvement and spearheading innovative solutions to elevate team performance.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work seamlessly across multiple teams, providing clear technical direction through excellent communication skills, and facilitating information exchange by chairing team and project meetings.

• BSc/BA in Quantity Surveying, business administration, finance or relevant field
• Demonstrably significant experience of major programme delivery across a number of programmes of values of £100s of millions of pounds., preferably including international.
• Exceptional leadership and behavioural management qualities with proven experience of leading change, and in building multi-disciplinary project and programme teams.
• Strong understanding and experience of NEC and different contract forms and ways of contracting including P13.
• Experience of building and leading complex supply chain to deliver engineering and/or construction projects.
• Solid collaboration skills to work effectively with multiple teams
• Innovative problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills to articulate clear technical direction
• Security clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance.
