This role is for an experienced Charge Nurse to lead and coordinate the nursing team at the Gateway Recovery Centre, providing high-quality care and support to people with complex mental health needs. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to effectively manage a team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Main duties of the job
As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering nursing care, coordinating the work of the nursing team, and liaising with other healthcare professionals. You will delegate tasks, monitor service users' conditions, provide guidance and support to your team, and make critical decisions regarding staffing and resource allocation. What you will be doing
With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to people in a mental health setting, while supporting your team and colleagues and promote good teamwork. As a Charge Nurse, you’ll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit is performing well. You'll also;
1. Delegate nursing tasks to Nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams
2. Monitor service users’ conditions and respond to changes
3. Supervise other members within the team's unit and provide guidance and support
4. Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation
5. Be liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, with effective communication and collaboration

Where you will be working
Location: Bennett’s Lane, Widnes, Warrington, WA8 0GT
You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility, providing care for men and women with complex mental health requirements to reduce risk behaviours associated with mental health conditions so that people in your care can ultimately live successful and fulfilling lives within the community.
The service is split into four distinct areas:
12. Male Autism Service for the challenging and complex needs of adults with Autism and Asperger’s syndrome
13. Assessment and rehabilitation for women with complex mental health needs and personality difficulties
14. Specialist inpatient service for older men with complex mental health and physical health needs.
15. Low secure care setting for men with a mental illness with or without personality disorder/mild learning disabilities
You will be working alongside the team with the aim to improve the mental health and wellbeing of service users, to help them develop and maintain healthy relationships with others.
