The post holder will be working closely with the Associate Director of Nursing and will be expected to demonstrate strong nursing leadership and provide highly specialist nursingadvice.The post holder will provide professional leadership/support to senior clinicians and managers within the Trust to ensure robust arrangements are in place to support and promote clinical practice developments, this will be achieved through adopting co-production approach to changes and improvements within the organisation. The post holder will be expected to provide support, guidance and represent the broad views of nurses within the services and will need to achieve a level of visibility that enables these goals to be met.The post holder will be expected to interpret national guidance in relation to nursing and advise on the implementation within the modernising and changing environment of those services provided by the Directorate. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the development of and lead on the implementation of key aspects and the annual work plan of the nursing strategy.The post holder will work as a full member of the Trust’s Leadership Team. They will support the development of and lead the Nurse Advisory Group/Lead Professionals Group and participate in practice Safety and Quality forums and nursing forums across the Trust, as appropriate.
To be a proactive member of the Senior Management Team in the directorate who together ensure the effective delivery of all of itsservices.Provide strong visible nursing leadership within area of responsibility and specialist advice to staff working within all services within theTrust.Responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of care (nursing) within the services and provide specific and specialist advice on nursingissues.To develop and establish networks for the profession both within and outside the organisation.To ensure representation of the nursing profession at forums within the organisation, and with other agencies and providers and take up the role of the Chair for meetings whenrequired.To act responsively in providing additional advice and support to services and staff in circumstances such as the occurrence of adverseincidents.Ensure that nursing, safety and quality are at the centre of service area planning, analysis and delivery through co-production and promoting continuous improvements.
The post holder is responsible for the professional supervision and reflective practice of groups of nursing staff, in particular Modern Matrons,toensure the quality of services they manage, or deliver is appropriate to the needs of the patients.
