We are searching for a Bid professional with recent construction bidding experience to join our London region as Assistant Bid Manager to support further growth of our Project Management, Cost Management and Building Surveying services in the Greater London area.
As Assistant Bid Manager for our London office, you will support business growth through the creation of high quality, winning bid submissions, working from a strategy of targeting the right opportunities, with the right proposition, in a compelling way.
As Assistant Bid Manager you will lead bids for our London region. You will lead strategy and storyboarding workshops, plan, write and manage the response process to ensure that a compelling, professional and compliant bid is developed. You will support multiple bids simultaneously in collaboration with Gleeds' Global Pursuits team.
As a collaborative, success focused and professional Bid Management Assistant, you will develop win strategies and bid plans, bringing ideas, innovation and fresh, creative thinking to the department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Supporting storyboarding workshops to develop clear structures for responses which articulate our win themes;
* Supporting strategy and proposition development on bids to ensure win themes are clearly articulated at the outset of the bid process;
* Working with bid team to produce clear answer schedules which enable technical authors to generate compelling draft content;
* Undertake bid/no bid conversations with Technical Leads to ensure we are targeting the correct opportunities;
* Timely planning, management and completion of bid submissions;
* Organise the review of the submissions against client requirements for high quality and accuracy;
* Plan, write and coordinate bid responses;
* Understand and interpret the questions and evaluation criteria within tender documents;
* Construct relevant answers which clearly answer the clients’ question and portray the company in the best light;
* Ensure accuracy and up to date information is placed in all tender and pre-qualification questionnaire documents;
* Maintain records and stats relating to submissions and successes;
* Build internal and external relationships with individuals associated with the bid process in order to create quality bids;
* Develop a creative approach to the writing and presentation of bids;
* Identify opportunities to enhance and improve the process, whilst sharing best practice with the team;
* Ensure the quality of the response and bid to reflect our company values;
* Support on internal projects and continuously improving the bid process.

Who we’re looking for
Experience:
* Prior experience in bid management or bid writing roles within a construction environment
* Construction industry experience (desirable);
* Ability to demonstrate experience successfully managing bids generating over £250k fee revenue or with a value of over £15m construction cost;
* Experience of contributing to bids generating over £1m fee revenue or with a value of over £100m construction cost;
* Project management experience;
* Line management experience;
* Demonstrate creativity and innovation through the production of bespoke documentation;
* Ability to plan and execute bid planning workshops with multiple attendees and complex team structures.
Key Skills
* Highly experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional Word and PowerPoint formatting skills;
* Highly experienced in Adobe InDesign;
* Excellent command of both spoken and written English (mandatory);
* A proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and determined bid professional;
* Skilled in editing copy to correct grammar, spelling and punctuation and to ensure consistent standard and style;
* A team player and effective communicator able to establish and maintain harmonious and professional relationships with clients and colleagues;
* Work on own initiative, and to an exceedingly high quality;
* Able to multi-task and work to tight deadlines in high pressure situations;
* Possess strong organisational and project management skills;
* Flexible, results driven and keen to take responsibility;
* Manage delivery through multiple team members and internal/external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant discipline (desirable)
* Professionally qualified (APMP) (desirable)
