Job Summary Technique Recruitment Solutions is working alongside a leading provider of custom engineering solutions to the energy industry. Our customer's expertise is in designing, engineering, maintaining, installing, testing and commissioning high-voltage substations, electrical transmission and distribution systems. Working within their new premises in Norwich they have a new opportunity for a Welder /Fabricator to join their expanding manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an expanding company with lots of future opportunities for development and career progression. : The ideal candidate will possess expertise in MIG and TIG welding, experience with fiber laser cutting, proficiency in operating a press brake, and a background in control box manufacturing. Additionally, experience in structural fabrication is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to high-quality projects in a collaborative factory environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform MIG and TIG welding on various materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications. Operate fiber laser cutting machines to produce precision components. Utilise a press brake to bend and shape metal sheets as per technical drawings. Fabricate control boxes and other components according to design specifications. Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure products meet quality and functionality requirements. Interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics. Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements and efficiency enhancements. Qualifications: Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in welding and fabrication or equivalent experience. Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding techniques. Familiarity with fiber laser cutting and press brake operation. Experience in control box manufacturing is essential. Advantageous experience in structural fabrication and working with various materials (steel, aluminum, etc.). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Valid certifications in welding.
